YEAR ENDER: In terms of cricket, the year 2025 was in the name of bowlers, while on one hand New Zealand bowlers completely occupied the wicket chart, while on the other hand, India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav also proved his consistency and class by making it to the top-5. The statistics released at the end of the year show how the bowlers made their impact in different conditions and formats.

Kiwis dominate, Duffy becomes number-1

The bowler who took the most wickets in 2025 was Jacob Duffy of New Zealand. He took 81 wickets in 39 innings of 36 matches throughout the year. His average was 17.11 and economy was 4.26, which shows his consistent and economical performances. Apart from Duffy, Matt Henry of New Zealand also performed brilliantly and took 65 wickets in his name and made a strong place in the top-5.

Kuldeep Yadav present in top-5

It was a matter of relief for Indian cricket that Kuldeep Yadav bowled brilliantly and made it to the top-5 wicket takers in 2025. Kuldeep took 60 wickets in 28 innings of 25 matches throughout the year. His average was 20.48, while the economy was 4.58. His ability to take wickets in pressure moments has made him India’s most effective spinner.

Performance of other bowlers

Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani (third place) also impressed with 65 wickets, while Bahrain’s Ali Dawood (fourth place) took 63 wickets to prove that bowlers from associate countries are also making their mark on the big stage.

Mohammed Siraj (Test)

The year 2025 was in the name of Mohammad Siraj in Test cricket for the Indian team. He took 43 wickets in 19 innings of 10 Test matches and became India’s most successful bowler in this format. These wickets, taken at an average of 27.20, came on foreign tours and in difficult conditions, which further enhanced their importance.

Harshit Rana (ODI)
