KBC 17: CRPF Inspector Biplab Biswas, resident of Doranda area in Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi, has achieved a big achievement. He famous TV show ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ Created history by winning one crore rupees. He has become the first CRPF officer to do so. This episode of his victory will be shown on Sony TV on 30 and 31 December 2025.

Biplab Biswas is originally from West Bengal, but his family lives in Doranda (Kusai Colony), Ranchi. He has been in CRPF since 1993 and is currently deployed on anti-Naxal operations in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Despite the tough duties there, whenever he got some time, he used to watch old episodes of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and memorize the answers to the questions.

15 years of hard work

Biplab said that this success is the result of his 15 years of continuous hard work and struggle. His father always encouraged him to participate in the show. Only his father’s advice and his passion brought him here. Finally, after so many years of trying, he got a chance to sit on the hot seat in front of Amitabh Bachchan.

Biplab performed amazingly during the show. He answered the first 10 questions (first and second stage) correctly without using any lifeline. Apart from this, in the ‘Super Sanduk’ round also he answered all the 10 questions correctly without making a single mistake. Not only the audience but also the show’s host Amitabh Bachchan was greatly impressed by this. Praising him, Amitabh said that he has now become a fan of Biplab. Not only this, Amitabh Bachchan invited Biplab and his family for dinner at his house. Besides, an additional amount of Rs 1 lakh was also announced.

Lost wife and father but still did not lose courage

There have also been sad moments in Biplab’s life. Both his wife and father died in the year 2021 during the Corona period. Despite this big shock, his courage did not break. He kept moving forward and today by winning one crore rupees with his hard work, he has become an example for everyone. Union Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth, senior CRPF officials and many leaders and MPs of Ranchi have congratulated him on his victory. Apart from Rs 1 crore, Biplab has also received many other rewards. These include Maruti Suzuki’s Victoria car (top model), an e-bike, a gold coin and a gift voucher of Rs 50,000 from Dr Fixit Company.

Biplab also sang a song written and composed by himself for Amitabh Bachchan in the show. He is also a singer and has also participated in ‘Indian Idol’ in the year 2005. Biplab Biswas has achieved this position through 15 years of dedication and penance along with the tough duty of CRPF. His story has become an inspiration for millions of youth that with hard work and courage any dream can come true.
