Complete list of government holidays in the year 2026, government offices will be closed for 127 days, MP government prepared a blueprint
Madhya Pradesh government has prepared the outline of the calendar for the year 2026. Along with this, a holiday plan was also prepared for the government employees. Government offices will be open for 238 days in the new year. Offices will remain closed for 127 days i.e. employees will get holidays.
23 public holidays
The 5 days working system for state government employees will remain in force as before. This time the employees will get 23 vacancies. These holidays include Republic Day (26 January), Holi (4 March), Gudi Padwa (19 March), Chetrichand (20 March), Ram Navami (26 March), Mahavir Jayanti (31 March), Good Friday (3 April), Dr Ambedkar Jayanti and Baisakhi (14 April), Parshuram Jayanti (20 April), Buddha Purnima (1 May), Eid-ul-Zuha (27 May), Maharana Pratap Jayanti/Chhatrasal Jayanti. (17 June), Muharram (26 June), Milad-un-Nabi (26 August), Krishna Janmashtami (4 September), Ganesh Chaturthi (14 September), Gandhi Jayanti (2 October), Vijayadashami (20 October), Diwali (8 November), Govardhan Puja (9 November), Guru Nanak Jayanti (24 November) and Christmas (25 December).
62 optional holidays to employees
This time 6 important festivals and holidays are falling on Saturday and Sunday. Due to this, employees will not get the benefit of leave. This time 62 optional holidays have been fixed, out of which government employees will be able to take three leaves. The minimum number of optional holidays is in May and July and the maximum in January and April.
Child care leave will be available thrice
Madhya Pradesh Civil Service (Leave) Rules 1977 have been amended. The revised rules will be implemented from January 1, 2026. Women will get 730 days leave for child care leave. The special thing in this is that full salary will be given for the first 365 days, after that 80 percent will be given. Child care leave cannot be taken more than three times. Along with this, teachers will be eligible for ten days of earned leave.
