Today is the last day to submit the final list for selection of PR MPs in Nepal.
Kathmandu. Political parties have started submitting their ‘final lists’ to the Election Commission under the Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system for the elections to be held on March 5. Today is the last day to submit the list. This list can be submitted till 4 pm.
According to the release of Commission’s Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, three political parties have submitted their lists by Sunday afternoon.
These parties are Nepal Shram Sanskriti Party, Janapriya Loktantrik Party and Shram Sanskriti Party. The commission will publish the final list after conducting the investigation. From this
Earlier 100 political parties had registered to participate in the elections under the PR system with 93 election symbols.
It is noteworthy that after the Gen-G movement in September, the interim government formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sushila Karki has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting elections for the House of Representatives (HoR). In this sequence, the interim government has announced to hold elections on March 5, 2026. More than one crore 88 lakh 90 thousand voters are registered in the country. All these voters will be able to vote on two separate ballot papers for both PR and direct systems.
