Bathing with hot water in winter can prove costly, know how to protect your skin.

As the winter season approaches, the habit of taking hot water bath increases. In cold weather it may seem that the hotter the water the better, but dermatologists say that excessively hot water can damage the skin’s moisture and natural oils. This not only results in dry and rough skin, but sometimes it can also cause serious skin diseases.

1. Hot water and skin problems

Hot water refreshes the skin temporarily, but prolonged and excessively hot bathing:

The natural moisture of the skin decreases.

The problem of dryness and itching increases.

Rashes and irritation may occur on sensitive skin.

Prolonged exposure to hot water weakens the skin’s natural oil layer, increasing the risk of infection.
