Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood Included In Australia’s T20 World Cup Squad: All the teams are announcing their squads for the ICC T20 World. There is a news coming from Australian Cricket that experienced fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood can be included in the Australian team for the World Cup 2026, despite injury concerns.
Australia will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on February 11, before playing a three-match T20 series in Pakistan in January. Now it remains to be seen whether Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood are able to recover by then or not. There are still 40 days left for the World Cup to start. T20 World Cup is going to start from 7th February.
What did coach Andrew McDonald say about Pat Cummins?
Head coach Andrew McDonald has said that Pat Cummins will have another scan in four weeks, after which a final decision will be taken on his availability in the World Cup. Andrew McDonald said, ‘I think Pat Cummins will have another scan in four weeks, which will give us information about his condition for the World Cup. He will be included in the 15-man squad, and then we will know what his situation is.”
Cummins returned after injury
Pat Cummins suffered a stress injury in his back in July, after which Cummins played only one international match. Meanwhile, Cummins rehabbed from a back stress injury and returned for the third Test of the Ashes series against England in Adelaide. In that match, Cummins took 6 wickets and Australia won by 82 runs. Australia did not want to take any more risks. In such a situation, Cummins was rested from the remaining matches of the series.

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the entire Ashes series due to hamstring and Achilles injuries. However, he is likely to be fit. McDonald said that Josh is returning to bowling. It looks like he’ll be in good shape by the expected deadline.
Tim David also got injured
Another worry for the Australia camp is Tim David. This explosive batsman was injured while playing for the Big Bash League (BBL) Hobart Hurricanes. The finisher was ruled out for two months at the start of the year due to a hamstring injury, but McDonald believes the 29-year-old will be fit in time for the big 20-over tournament.
