Kiran Rao shares health update after appendix surgery; Aamir parties with GF Gauri, ex-wife Reena Dutta sends wishes

Filmmaker Kiran Rao recently underwent an appendix operation and took to her social media to share a health update after returning home. On Sunday (December 28), she posted a series of photos on her official Instagram account and spoke about an unexpected medical health emergency.

In her post, Kiran revealed that she was gearing up to celebrate the transition into 2026 when her appendix forced her to slow down and prioritise rest.

She wrote, “Here I was, all ready to party my way into 2026, when my appendix sent me a reminder to slow down, breathe deep, and give thanks.”

She also joked about the surgery and her swollen lips, clarifying that they were the result of an allergic reaction.

She added, “Dr Kayomarz Kapadia and the whole surgical team, Ira, Popeye and Shefali for tlc and hospital sleepover fun, Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital’s super care, my friends and family who mostly came around to laugh at my plumped lips- an allergic reaction, sadly they’re back to normal and unglam now…”

As soon as the post caught attention, netizens wondered where Aamir Khan was, as he was nowhere to be seen by her side. In fact, Aamir was attending Salman Khan’s birthday bash at his Panvel farmhouse with his girlfriend, Gauri Spatt.

Netizens were not happy with his gesture and schooled him for the same. Meanwhile, Reena Dutta and Ira Khan, Aamir’s first wife and daughter. dropped heart emojis on Kiran’s post.

Aamir Khan married Kiran in 2005, and the couple separated in 2021. They continue to co-parent their son, Azad. Kiran was Aamir’s second wife. She began her career as an assistant director on Lagaan and later directed Dhobi Ghat.
