Kharagpur, December 29: The politics of the state has heated up over the death of civic volunteer Tulsi Rao alias Uday in Kharagpur. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, Subhendu Adhikari, demonstrated strongly in front of Kharagpur Town police station on Sunday evening.

During this, he made a scathing attack on the state government and police administration. He described this incident as a living example of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

On Sunday evening, Subhendu Adhikari first reached the house of deceased Tulsi Rao (Uday) and met the family members and expressed his condolences. After this he led a roaring rally and marched to Kharagpur Town police station. During the rally, workers of various Hindu organizations and BJP supporters participated in large numbers and raised slogans demanding the arrest of the culprits and strict punishment.

During the demonstration in front of the police station, Shubhendu Adhikari alleged that law and order has completely collapsed in the state. When even the civic volunteers working with the police are not safe, then the safety of the general public cannot be imagined. He held the Chief Minister and the police administration responsible for this death.

The Leader of Opposition claimed that Tulsi Rao’s murder was planned and people associated with the local ruling party had a role in it. He accused ward number five councilor Fida Hussain of being involved in this matter. He also demanded a fair investigation and immediate arrest of all the accused.

Shubhendu Adhikari warned that if the culprits were not arrested till one date, then an even bigger agitation would be launched after two dates. He also assured all possible assistance to the victim’s family.

It is noteworthy that Civic Volunteer Tulsi Rao had gone to have tea with two of his friends after finishing duty late night on 15th December.
