In today’s busy life, youth and seekers often remain confused about celibacy and nocturnal emission. What celibacy due to nocturnal emission breaks down? The answer to this question was given by a saint and spiritual guru. Premanand Maharaj Has given on the basis of his experience and knowledge. He believes that this subject is not just a physical phenomenon but is related to mental and spiritual condition.

While sharing his experiences, Premanand Maharaj said that when he was 18 to 20 years old, he asked this question to his Guru Omkara Nand Saraswati Paramahansa in solitude. His knowledge and guidance are still a guide for the youth and seekers.

Guru’s precious knowledge

Premanand Maharaj told that ‘Just as pulses swell, similarly the seed for procreation i.e. semen also comes out from the body through a natural process. If this happens naturally while awake, it is not considered a defect. The defect occurs when it comes out during sexual intercourse or under other circumstances.

According to him, nocturnal emission is a natural physiological process and should not be seen as breaking of celibacy. The seeker only needs to live a conscious and restrained life. Premanand Maharaj also clarified that celibacy is not just physical abstinence but is also a symbol of mental and spiritual strength. Therefore, natural phenomena like nocturnal emission should not be a matter of concern.

What to do to remain celibate?

Brahmacharya is not just physical abstinence, but the art of controlling every aspect of life – physical, mental and verbal. Its objective is to lead a person towards discipline, mental stability and spiritual progress. Eat satvik and light food. Take fresh fruits, vegetables and simple pulses. Stay away from tea, coffee, tobacco and intoxicants. Wake up early in the morning (3-3.30 am), take bath, do pranayama and meditation. Do daily exercises, asanas and pranayam like Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom. Sleep should be short and simple.

Avoid physical desires and sensual activities. Mentally maintain distance from obscene thoughts, pictures and videos. Avoid obscene talk, jokes and inappropriate comments at the verbal level. Have respect for women and see them like a sister or mother. Adopt meditation, chanting and positive company. Spend time with good and knowledgeable people. Follow the truth and do not allow negative thoughts. Wear simple cotton and khadi clothes. Stay away from places where there is a possibility of corrupt character. Married persons should maintain abstinence on holy dates and during menstruation.
