Ramkrishna Ghosh’s 7 wickets : Ramkrishna Ghosh wreaked havoc for Maharashtra in the Vijay Hazare Trophy organized by the BCCI on Monday. Although he is yet to play an IPL match, he has now created a sensation with a 30-run 7-wicket haul against Himachal Pradesh in 9.4 overs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, in a Group C match of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His bowling performance limited Himachal Pradesh to 271 runs in 49.4 overs, once ready for a big score, but Himachal Pradesh won by 7 runs against Maharashtra.

Himachal Pradesh won

Himachal Pradesh won the match by 7 runs. Chasing the target of 272 runs, Maharashtra managed to score only 264 runs for 9. Pukhraj Mann scored a century for Himachal Pradesh. He scored a brilliant knock of 110 off 111 balls with 3 sixes and 9 fours. Vaibhav Arora also played an important knock of 40 runs off 33 balls. Ramakrishna Ghosh from Maharashtra picked up the most 7 wickets from the opponent. Pradeep, Rajvardhan Hungergekar and Satyajit took 1 wicket each.

Chasing runs, Maharashtra’s innings was reduced to 264 runs off the last ball. Ankit Bavane scored 97 runs off 120 balls for the team from Maharashtra. Nikhil Naik hit 39 runs. But they could not lead the team to victory. Captain Mridul Suroch, Rohit Kumar and Aryaman Singh picked up 2 wickets each from the opposition. Vaibhav Arora took 1 wicket.

Chennai still has faith in Ramakrishna

Born on 28 August 1997 in Nashik, Ramakrishna Ghosh was signed by Chennai Super Kings ahead of IPL 2025. At that time, CSK had spent 30 lakh rupees on the player in the auction. CSK has retained Ramakrishna Ghosh for IPL 2026. But Ramakrishna Ghosh has not yet played a single match in the IPL league.
