New Delhi. During the India vs Sri Lanka fourth T20 match, a feat happened which has not happened till date in the history of women’s T20 cricket. Batting first in this match, India made the highest score of 221 runs in the history of T20 cricket. During this, Smriti Mandhana played a blazing inning of 80 runs while Shafali Verma played a blazing inning of 79 runs. The Sri Lankan team, which came to chase this score, could score only 191 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Captain Chameera Atapattu played the highest innings of 53 runs for Sri Lanka. Both the teams together scored 412 runs in this match, but no batsman scored a century.

This is the highest score by both the teams combined in the history of WT20I cricket, when no batsman has scored a century. When so many runs are scored in T20, at least one batsman scores a century, but this did not happen during this match. Even if extra runs are removed, this is a world record. Sri Lanka had given 6 extra runs and India had given 11 extra runs. Which includes runs like wide, no, leg bye and bye. The surprising thing is that all these runs have come on Indian soil.
