Huma Qureshi’s special role in ‘A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups’ – Obnews

Lead actor Yash shared this poster on social media, in which Qureshi is seen in an elegant black gown, standing next to an old black car, in a Gothic graveyard-like place, where there are old tombs and stone angels. His calm, intense expression points to a character full of mystery and danger.

Director **Geethu Mohandas** described the casting of Elizabeth as “the most difficult”, and praised Qureshi’s “effortless sophistication and intensity”, which instantly brought the character to life. He said that Huma’s way of thinking deeply made the character better, which could prove to be a big turning point in her career.

The period gangster drama, based on the bygone era of Goa’s drug cartel, stars Yash in the lead role and stars **Kiara Advani** (who was previously seen as Nadia), **Nayanthara**, **Tara Sutaria**, and **Rukmini Vasanth**.

Co-written by Yash and Mohandas, the film is shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, and will also have dubbed versions in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. Produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, it features cinematography by Rajiv Ravi and music by Ravi Basrur.

**Toxic** marks the comeback of Yash after *KGF: Chapter 2* and will release worldwide on **March 19, 2026** on the occasion of Eid, Ugadi and Gudi Padwa.
