Addressing a rally in Borduwa (Batdrava) in Nagaon district, Amit Shah described Congress as the protector of Bangladeshi infiltrators. He also said that its policy of using Bangladeshi infiltrators as vote bank has threatened the original inhabitants of Assam, their identity and their ancestral lands.
Illegal immigrants will be identified all over India
Shah said the Center will identify all illegal immigrants coming from the neighboring country, not only from Assam but also from across India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not only ensured the protection of the cultural identity of the people of Assam but has also paid attention to all kinds of development of the state.
During this, Amit Shah inaugurated the Rs 227 crore redevelopment project of Batadrava Than, the birthplace of Vaishnav saint Srimanta Sankardev. He said it is a historic occasion that the birthplace of Srimanta Sankardev has been ‘freed from encroachment’. In this sequence, the Assam government led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has freed more than one lakh bighas of land from Bangladeshi infiltrators.

‘Give BJP another 5 years to make Assam free from infiltrators’
It is noteworthy that elections are going to be held in Assam in the beginning of 2026, hence Shah did not miss the opportunity to appeal to the people to vote for BJP. He told the people at the rally, ‘Give five more years to BJP to make Assam free from infiltrators. We will identify all Bangladeshi infiltrators not only from Assam but also from all over India.
Assam has become the growth engine of the North-East
Shah further said that Shankardev had given the slogan of ‘One India’, which is now being followed by Prime Minister Modi. Emphasizing that Assam has become the growth engine of the North-East and is taking the region towards development, Shah said that in these 11 years, PM Modi visited the North-Eastern areas 80 times. Of these, he has come to Assam 36 times, which shows that the BJP government is paying attention to the development of the North-Eastern region.
The senior BJP leader said that the Prime Minister has taken steps to ensure peace and development in Assam, which is not just on paper but in reality. He said that in the last 11 years, the BJP government has signed peace agreements with different militant groups in the state and 92 percent of the clauses of these agreements have been fulfilled.
