Dubai International Airport has surpassed over 20 competitors, including Singapore’s Changi Airport, to win the title of “World’s Leading Airport” at the 2025 World Travel Awards.
This is the sixth consecutive year that Dubai airport has claimed the title.
Serving as the primary hub for Emirates airline, the airport handles nearly 100 carriers that fly to more than 240 destinations on six continents.
It also boasts facilities like zen gardens, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, cinemas, diverse dining options, and a five-star hotel.
Dubai International Airport handled a record-breaking 92.3 million passengers in 2024, making it the busiest year in its history and solidifying its position as the world’s busiest airport for international traffic, according to official reports from Dubai Airports.
The World Travel Awards, established in 1993, recognize excellence in the travel and tourism industry and are often referred to as the “Oscars of the travel industry.” These annual awards are determined by votes from both travel industry professionals and the public.
Changi Airport, renowned for the world’s tallest indoor waterfall, has frequently been voted among the world’s best airports.
However, after recent tourist complaints about slow baggage handling, the airport operator issued an apology and pledged to ensure a smooth experience for all travelers.
