Rajeev Shukla made a statement about Gautam Gambhir’s future

In an interview to ANI, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla put an end to rumors of Gautam Gambhir’s removal as head coach. He clarified that there are currently no plans to hire a new head coach. Rajeev Shukla said, “I want to give a clear answer to the media rumors about Gautam Gambhir. The BCCI secretary (Devjit Saikia) has already made it clear that there is no plan to remove him as India’s head coach and appoint a new coach.”

Although Team India under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir has not had much success in Test cricket, their record in ODIs and T20Is is impressive. Under Gambhir’s leadership, Team India won the Champions Trophy after 12 years and then won the 2025 Asia Cup. India have not lost a single T20I series since Gautam became the head coach. Gautam’s performance in limited overs cricket has been exceptional. Gambhir’s only misfortune has been in Tests.
