Amit Shah West Bengal Visit: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in Kolkata on Tuesday that after the next assembly elections, a stream of development will flow in West Bengal, because the people are living in an atmosphere of fear during the 15-year rule of TMC. Shah alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s government has failed to stop infiltration in Bengal and only the BJP government can do this work. He said that under BJP rule, “even Parinda will not be able to kill” and all infiltrators will be selectively driven out.
Amit Shah reached Kolkata on Monday on a three-day visit. On Tuesday, he will hold several important meetings with party leaders, in which the strategy for West Bengal Assembly elections will be discussed.

Amit Shah said that BJP was founded in Bengal, hence this state holds special importance for the party. He told that in 2014, the party got only 2 seats and 17% votes in Bengal, but in 2019 it increased to 18 seats and 41% votes. In the 2021 assembly elections, BJP won 77 seats and 38% votes.
