Jofra Archer Included In England Squad for Men’s T20 World Cup 2026
The fast bowler Jofra Archer has been included in the England squad for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which is set to be staged in February and March.
The selectors have also named Josh Tongue in the England squad for the global event to be played in India and Sri Lanka.
The announcement comes alongside the naming of England’s T20I and ODI squads for the next white-ball tour of Sri Lanka.
However, Jofra Archer will not be featuring in the Sri Lanka tour as he will continue his rehabilitation with the England medical team following a left side strain sustained during the 3rd test of the Ashes 2025-26.
On the other hand, Josh Tongue has been rewarded with his maiden T20I call-up, having been selected for the Sri Lanka tour.

Brydon Carse features in the touring T20I squad but is not part of the Provisional World Cup group. England can make changes to their squad up until a week before the start of the T20 World Cup.
All-rounder Will Jacks is involved after missing the white-ball tour of New Zealand in the Autumn with a broken finger. Although there is no place for Jamie Smith, who is also out of the three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka, Zak Crawley will be returning to the England squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.
Will Jacks and Tom Banton are also options at the top, although the latter has found a regular role in the middle order of late. However, Sam Curran is included, while Liam Dawson and Rehan Ahmed join Adil Rashid in the spin department.
This will be first global event for Harry Brook as England captain after taking over from Jos Buttler following the Champions Trophy heartbreak.
England reached the semi-finals of the previous T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and the USA in 2024 before losing to India.
