Tata Harrier-Safari again gets 5-star safety power, now petrol variant also tops in Bharat NCAP

After diesel, now petrol variants are also 5-star
It is worth noting that the diesel variants of Tata Harrier and Safari had already received 5-star safety from Bharat NCAP. Apart from this, Tata Harrier.ev is also equipped with 5-star. Recently the company had introduced petrol variants of Harrier and Safari and now these have also received the same highest safety rating. The reason for this is that both diesel and petrol variants are based on the same safety structure and restraint system.
India NCAP starts and first big test
Bharat NCAP was launched in India in October 2023. Soon after, Harrier and Safari were crash tested in December 2023, in which both the SUVs performed brilliantly and achieved a 5-star rating. Now this safety score has been applied to petrol variants also.
Got excellent marks in crash test
According to Bharat NCAP,
- Adult Occupant Protection (AOP): 30.08 points out of 32
- Child Occupant Protection (COP): 44.54 points out of 49
It is clear from these scores that despite the change in powertrain, there was no impact on safety performance.

New petrol engine, same reliable power
Till now Harrier and Safari came with 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine, which produces 168 bhp power and 350 Nm torque. With the new update, the option of 1.5-liter TGDI turbo petrol engine has been added, which generates 168 bhp power and 280 Nm torque. Both engine options can be chosen with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
