OLA Roadster The company’s electric motorcycle OLA Roadster X+ has now received official approval from the government. This certification has been given after completing stringent tests and rules, after which the way has been cleared to start the supply of this bike.

Got government certification from ICAT

OLA Electric has informed that Roadster X+ (9.1 kWh) has received approval from Manesar-based government testing agency ICAT (International Center for Automotive Technology). This approval has been given under the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR), 1989. This means that the bike has been found to be completely safe and compliant to run on the road in India.

India’s first bike with 4680 cell battery

The biggest feature of OLA Roadster X+ is its 4680 Bharat Cell battery pack. This is a completely indigenously developed (in-house) battery technology. Ola claims that the Roadster This is also considered a big achievement in terms of ‘Make in India’.

Passes rigorous vehicle-level test

According to the company, the Roadster X+ had to go through several important tests before getting the certification. These include structural and functional safety, range test, gradeability, noise level, Electromagnetic Compatibility and braking performance. The bike performed well in all these tests, after which it got the green signal as per the safety standards of MoRTH.

9.1 kWh battery gets ARAI approval

The 9.1 kWh battery installed in OLA Roadster X+ has also received certification from ARAI. This approval has been given under AIS-156 Amendment 4. The battery has also passed rigorous safety tests such as water immersion, thermal runaway, fire protection, vibration and mechanical shock. This confirms the strength and reliability of the battery.

Big success for Ola Electric

OLA Electric spokesperson said that Roadster X+ receiving this government certification is a big milestone for the company. This will give new strength to Ola’s vision of strengthening the entire electric vehicle technology ecosystem in India. The company also plans to use the 4680 Bharat Cell platform in its scooter and upcoming motorcycle range.
