ICC Women’s T20 Rankings: Shefali’s stormy batting did wonders… made a long bounce, Mandhana retained the third position
Dubai. After her stellar performance in the ongoing T20 International series against Sri Lanka, Shafali Verma has moved up four places to sixth position in the ICC Women’s T20 rankings, while vice-captain and opening batsman Smriti Mandhana remains at the third position.
According to the latest data released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, Shefali is at sixth position with 736 points, while Mandhana remains at third position with 767 points. Despite falling one place, Jemimah Rodrigues (10th) remains the third Indian batsman in the top 10.
So far, Shefali has scored 227 runs with three half-centuries in four matches of the series and is just 60 points behind Australia’s Beth Mooney, who is on top of the table. Indian wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh has also made 20th place in the rankings after scoring an unbeaten 40 runs in the fourth T20 International.
Meanwhile, Renuka Singh and Sri Charani have made the biggest gains in the rankings for T20 bowlers. Renuka returned to the team in the third match of the Sri Lanka series, taking four wickets and as a result, the latest ranking of T20 bowlers moved up eight places to number six. Left-arm spinner Sri Charani took four wickets in the first four matches against Sri Lanka and has climbed 17 places to reach the overall 52nd position in the rankings. Deepti Sharma continues to top this list with 738 points.
