It is noteworthy that amid the ongoing peace talks mediated by US President Donald Trump, on Monday Russia accused Ukraine of trying to attack President Vladimir Putin’s house and threatened retaliatory action, but did not provide any evidence for this claim. At the same time, Kiev rejected this claim as baseless and said that its purpose is to derail the difficult peace talks.
Angry talks between the warring neighbors, including Russia’s statement that it was reviewing its stance in talks in response to the attack, have dealt another blow to prospects for peace in Ukraine, according to Reuters news agency.
US President Trump also angry after hearing the news of the attack
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump also reacted to this alleged attack and said that President Putin had told him about this attack on phone on Monday morning, which had made him angry. Nevertheless, Trump reiterated his belief that a peace deal could be reached soon.
President Trump told the media, ‘It’s one thing to make someone feel bad. But attacking his house is another matter. This is not the right time to do all this. And I learned about it from President Putin today. I was very angry about this.
Trump met Zelensky in Florida two days ago
It is noteworthy that last Sunday, President Trump met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Florida. The US President said they are getting “very close, perhaps very close” to an agreement to end the war, although “difficult” regional issues remain.
