Taskin Ahmed Opens Up on NOC Saga & ILT20 Experience

Although it has given No Objection Certificates to players without any objection for participating in franchise leagues outside their respective countries which included the Bangladesh pacer bowler Taskin Ahmed who appreciated the decision still, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has been lenient in this aspect.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has issued an NOC to Taskin Ahmed for attending the UAE-based ILT20 league where he is currently playing for the Sharjah Warriors. BCB not only granted an NOC to the pacer Mustafizur Rahman for IPL 2026 but also his participation is still unclear.

The spinner Rishad Hossain has been given an NOC to take part in the Big Bash League where he is playing for the Hobart Hurricanes. Thus, BCB had been very strict back in 2017 when the NOC rules reduced players’ chances of showcasing their talent but has since been very lenient.

Taskin Ahmed elaborates on ILT20 experience after NOC

Taksin Ahmed, spoke on this grand occasion to play in the ILT20, commended the board’s liberal nature which allows the players to participate in such global events.

“Getting the NOC feels really good. The more you play, the more you learn, especially when you share the dressing room with players from different cultures. Every team has a different coaching staff and a unique environment, and everyone brings their own experiences. All of that helps you grow and improve as a cricketer,” Ahmed said as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Taskin Ahmed went on to say that the players’ skill development and change of mindset would be the result of their participation in leagues abroad.

“In major leagues, like the ILT20, every batting line-up of the team is very strong, and one quality batter is following another which is making it very difficult for the bowlers. But, this challenge builds confidence, and even a five percent improvement from such experiences can be a big difference for the national team.”

“Different cultures and coaching exposure facilitates player’s understanding of new ways to prepare, recover, train, and even think about the game. In addition, playing abroad means you are under constant pressure, for a foreign player can be dropped after one or two poor games,” Ahmed further stated.

Taskin Ahmed to lead pace attack in BPL 2025-26

Taskin Ahmed has been directly acquired by Dhaka Capitals for the BPL 2026 season, and the right-arm fast bowler will be leading the team’s pace attack right from the start after being absent from the first game on December 27.

In ILT20, Ahmed has a remarkable performance to show with his bowling, where he got 9 wickets from 6 matches with the best bowling figure of 3-40 in the tournament.
