IND W VS SL W: Sri Lanka won the toss and chose bowling against India, Kamalini’s debut
Thiruvananthapuram. Sri Lanka women’s cricket team won the toss and decided to bowl first in the fifth T20 against India on Tuesday. Sri Lankan captain Chamri Atapattu said that Enoka Ranaweera and Malki Madara have returned to the team, while Malsha Shehani and Kavya Kavindi have been rested.
Atapattu won the toss and said, “We decided to bowl first because we played a bit of good cricket in the last match. We have learned a lot in this series. We are playing against world champions India, so we learn a lot in every match. I think these opportunities are great for the youngsters and we learn from those mistakes. So we will go home with positive things next year. There are two changes in our team. Enoka Ranaweera and Malki Madara, Malsha Shehani and Kavya have returned to the team in place of Kavindi.”
Indian women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur said that 17-year-old G Kamalini is making her debut for India. Sneh Rana has returned to the team, while Renuka Singh Thakur has been rested. Harmanpreet said, “We have no problem in batting first. This is an important match for us, so we will play well and win. We want to finish this series the way we started it. Hopefully we will maintain the same rhythm and give our best performance. Today there are two changes in our team. Smriti and Renuka have been rested. Kamalini is going to make her debut and Sneh Rana is back.
