He further said, today 30th December is a day of pride for all of us Indians. On this day in 1943, the country’s great freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose, the son of the land of Bengal, hoisted the flag of independent India for the first time in Port Blair. In a way, this was an important milestone in our freedom struggle. Decades later, when we look at today, the time from December 30 to April is important for Bengal.
The Home Minister further said that the people of Bengal are scared and apprehensive due to fear, corruption, misgovernance and especially infiltration during the 15 years of TMC rule. We also want to assure and promise the people of Bengal that with the formation of BJP government in Bengal under the leadership of Modi ji, we will revive the heritage of this place, the Ganga of development will again flow at a fast pace and will give priority to the welfare of the poor.
He further said, fear and corruption have been the identity of Bengal for 14 years. After April 15, 2026, when BJP government is formed in Bengal, then we will start Bengal pride, Bengal culture and its renaissance. We will try to create the Bengal of dreams of Vivekananda ji, Bankim Babu, Gurudev Tagore, Syama Prasad Mukherjee.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, we got 17 percent votes and two seats in Bengal. In the 2016 assembly elections, we got 10 percent votes and three seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, we got 41 percent votes and 18 seats. In the 2021 assembly elections, we got 38 percent votes and 77 seats. The party which had got just 3 seats, got 77 seats in a span of five years. The Congress party, which started its existence from Bengal, reached zero, and the communist alliance which ruled for 34 years could not even get a single seat, and we became the main opposition.

Amit Shah further said, in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections also, BJP received 39 percent votes and 12 seats. In 2026, we are definitely going to form the BJP government in Bengal with an overwhelming majority. Infiltration from the Bengal border is not just a matter of Bengal, it is a matter of national security. If the culture of the country is to be saved and the security of the country is to be ensured, then a government will have to be brought in to seal the borders of Bengal. TMC cannot do this, only BJP can do this.
