Lucknow: It is extremely cold these days in Uttar Pradesh, due to which all schools and colleges up to intermediate have been closed. Most of the districts in the eastern and western areas of the state are in the grip of cold days. Due to lack of sunlight even during the day, it is as cold as the night.
There is dense fog in many districts of the state. Minimum visibility has reached zero. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of rain with thunder in some areas of Western Uttar Pradesh on January 1, 2026. There will be movement of clouds in eastern Uttar Pradesh also.
Due to the ongoing severe cold and fog in Uttar Pradesh, normal life is badly affected. Airlines and trains are being hit the most. Even on Tuesday, domestic and international flights from Lucknow airport were delayed for hours. More than 24 trains were also delayed.
According to the Meteorological Department, there is no hope for the people of the state to get relief from the severe cold. Many western disturbances are active in the atmosphere, due to which there is a possibility of temperature fluctuations. After 24 hours, a slight increase in the maximum and minimum temperature will be recorded.
After that, again after the movement of clouds and rain, a decrease in the maximum and minimum temperature will be recorded. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of severe cold in January. The Meteorological Department had already issued a forecast that the number of cold wave days would increase.

Barabanki of Uttar Pradesh was the coldest district on Monday, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 8 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature of 23 degrees Celsius was recorded in Banda district.
Weather of UP:
Meteorologist Dr. Atul Singh said that due to active western disturbance in the atmosphere, the maximum temperature may increase by 4 to 5 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. An increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius will also be recorded in the minimum temperature. Due to western disturbance, there may be light rain with thunder in some areas of western Uttar Pradesh on January 1.
