Luke Littler’s cheeky ‘Bunting effect’ dig goes viral on TikTok after World Champion win
Reigning world champion Luke Littler has sparked a social media frenzy following a cheeky remark about his rival Stephen Bunting.
The dart sensation is currently trending on TikTok after his clinical 4-0 victory over Mensur Suljovic at the 2026 PDC World Darts Championship.
While Littler enjoyed a dominant night on the stage Bunting suffered a shock exit from the tournament. Earlier in the evening, the fourth seed was knocked out in a tense match against James Hurrell.
In his post-match press conference, Littler was asked about his growing popularity and could not resist a playful swipe at his fellow Englishman.
The 18-year-old quipped, “Obviously the Luke Littler effect is still going strong in this tournament I don’t think the Bunting effect is going too well this tournament.”
He followed the comment with a smile and joked “So yeah maybe I’ve got the biggest fanbase. I had to say that sorry!”

The dig was a not to Bunting’s previous claims of being the “People’s Champion” and having the best social media presence in darts. Fans have shared the clip millions of times praising Littler for his confidence and humour.
On the board “The Nuke” remains the man to beat after finishing with a massive 107.09 average. He now advances to the last 16 where he looks to defend his world title.
