Public anger is deepening over the chaos prevailing in Ward No. 03, Azad Nagar Anpara Mor of the local Nagar Panchayat Anpara and the lack of basic public facilities. In this connection, Destination Society President Sumit Mittal has submitted a formal application to the concerned department and demanded that the stalled development works in the area be started with immediate effect.
Society President Sumit Mittal made serious allegations against the Nagar Panchayat administration and termed it as a “living example of failure”. According to him, for the last 3 years, the local councilor and concerned officials have been made aware of the problems, but the situation remains the same. He said that the entire system “remains dumb and deaf, which is ignoring the needs of the public.” It is often argued by the administration that the work is stalled due to non-receipt of No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Public Works Department (PWD) or other departments.
Sumit Mittal raised tough questions on this. Is NOC required from any department even for sweeping the ward? Is the administration waiting for NOC to clean the drains? If NOC is required for drain construction, was the time of three years not enough to obtain a certificate. Destination Society alleges that the officials of Nagar Panchayat Anpara are busy only in paperwork. Instead of solving the problems of the public, they are being misled by technical details and excuses like NOC.
Efforts are also being made to mislead the media by giving misleading information. Nagar Panchayat should be alert and listen to the voice of the public. Now the time for excuses is over, work should be visible on the ground. Sumit Mittal, President, Destination Society, the people of Ward No. 03 are now in a see-through mood. The Society has given a clear warning that if essential works like drain construction and cleanliness are not started soon, then an agitation will be planned.
