‘China conducted mediation between India and Pakistan…’ After Trump, Chinese Foreign Minister claimed to conduct ceasefire
India-Pakistan Ceasefire: After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, India started ‘Operation Vermillion’ and targeted the hideouts of terrorists in Pakistan. After which military conflict started between the two countries. But, US President Donald Trump has been taking credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Now China, which is supporting Pakistan, is also not lagging behind in taking credit. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has claimed that China was involved in mediation between the two countries.

In fact, US President Trump has said many times that he had got the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. If this had not happened, a nuclear war could have broken out and millions of people could have died. But, India has always denied this claim and said that the India-Pakistan conflict between May 7 and 10 was resolved through direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the armies of the two countries. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday claimed that tensions between India and Pakistan were among the major sensitive issues ‘mediated’ by China this year.
“This year (2025), local wars and cross-border conflicts will erupt more frequently than at any time since the end of World War II. Geopolitical turmoil continues to spread. To establish lasting peace, we (China) have adopted a rational stance, and focused on addressing both the symptoms and the root causes,” Wang Yi said at a symposium on the international situation and China’s foreign relations held in Beijing.
The Chinese Foreign Minister further said, “Adopting this Chinese approach to resolving standoff issues, we (China) mediated in Northern Myanmar, Iran’s nuclear issue, tensions between Pakistan and India, Palestine and Israel issues and the recent conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.” There has been no reaction from India on this statement yet.
