Traffic plan changed in Indore on New Year, special information for those going to Khajrana Ganesh Temple

If the new year starts with the darshan of God, then people feel at ease throughout the year. This is the reason why every year on the night of 31st December and morning of 1st January, Khajrana Ganesh Temple of Indore is filled with devotees. Lakhs of people reach the temple for the midnight aarti and the first darshan of the new year. Devotees not only from Indore but also from nearby districts and other states join this crowd.

But with this flood of faith, the biggest challenge is traffic and security. In the past years, there have been jams, chaos and long hours of hassle. Keeping these experiences in mind, this time Indore administration and traffic police have made complete preparations in advance and a special traffic diversion plan has been implemented for the New Year.

Estimate of crowd in Khajrana Ganesh temple and preparation of administration

Khajrana Ganesh Temple is counted among the most important religious places not only in Indore but in Madhya Pradesh. It is believed that the wishes made here with a true heart definitely get fulfilled. This is the reason why the number of devotees here increases manifold on the last day of the year and the first day of the new year. According to the administration’s estimate, lakhs of devotees can reach the temple on December 31 and January 1.

In view of this huge crowd, the administration has kept the traffic system on priority. Devotees can have darshan in a safe and organized manner without getting stuck in traffic. For this, the traffic police has prepared a new route map, in which the entry and exit routes have been kept separate, so that there is no cross movement of vehicles and there is no jam situation.

Traffic route changed for Khajrana Ganesh temple

Devotees going to Khajrana Ganesh Temple on the occasion of New Year will now have to use the new route decided instead of the old routes. According to the traffic police, devotees will use the service road instead of going directly towards the temple from Khajrana Chowk. This service road will reach the temple parking via Siddhivinayak Hospital and Ganeshpuri area.

The purpose of this arrangement is to reduce crowd and vehicular pressure on the main road. The vehicles of devotees will be able to reach the parking area directly, due to which there will be no obstruction on the road. A different route has been decided at the time of return also. After darshan, the devotees will be taken out towards Kalka Mata Temple Gate and Peepal Chowk. Due to this, there will be no conflict between incoming and outgoing vehicles and traffic will continue to flow smoothly.

Complete ban on these routes

Under the New Year Traffic Plan, entry of vehicles on some important roads has been completely stopped. General vehicles will not be allowed to enter the service road from Bengali Chowk to Siddhivinayak Hospital. This decision has been taken so that there is no obstruction of any kind on the route fixed for the devotees and it becomes easier for the administration to work in case of emergency.

Apart from this, city bus service between Khajrana Chowk and Star Chowk will also remain temporarily closed. Passengers traveling through this route daily will have to use alternative routes. The traffic police has appealed to the people to avoid going to this area unnecessarily and if it is necessary to go, then first get information about traffic diversion.
