Is the ‘Big Cat’ ready for the PGA Tour Champions?
The world of sports is celebrating a historic milestone today as Tiger Woods officially turns 50.
Social media has become a digital gallery of his greatest moments from the 1997 Masters victory to his 2019 comeback, as fans and fellow athletes honour the man who redefined golf.
The “Big Cat” is now officially eligible for the PGA Tour Champions, the senior circuit for players 50 and older.
While the tour allows the use of golf carts which could help Woods manage his long-term leg injuries, his immediate future remains uncertain.

Following a recent back surgery in October and an Achilles injury earlier this year, Woods has not played a competitive round in 2025.
Speaking earlier this month at the Heron World Challenge, Woods was honest about his recovery. “I’m just looking forward to let me get back to playing again. Then I can figure out what the schedule is going to be,” he told reporters.
He emphasised that he is still focused on basic health before making any tour commitments, noting, “I’m a ways away from that part of it, that type of decision, that type of commitment level.”

Despite the physical hurdles, his desire remains. “’I’d like to come back to just playing golf again. I haven’t played golf in a long time. It’s been a tough year,” Woods admitted.
While a 2026 debut on the senior tour is the dream for fans, for now, the legend is simply focused on getting back to the game he loves.
