IND VS SL W 5th T20I : India clear Sri Lanka! Kaur Army’s 5-0 win in five-match T20I series

India defeated Sri Lanka by 15 runs: India gave Sri Lanka a clean sweep by winning the final match of the five-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka by 15 runs. When India batted for the first time, they set a challenge of 175 runs against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka could not complete it. They managed to score 160 for 7 in 20 overs. As a result, India defeated Sri Lanka by 15 runs and won the series 5-0.

The Indian team has won the series against Sri Lanka by winning the first four matches of the series. Throughout the series, India has dominated and won the matches one-sidedly. In the final Test, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bowl first. After this, in the absence of Smriti Mandhana and Jemima Rodrigues, India suffered back-to-back setbacks at the start.

India was 77 for 5. But, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur along with Amanjyot Kaur saved India’s innings. Harmanpreet scored 68 runs. While Amanjyot contributed 21 runs and Arundhati Reddy contributed 27 runs. Hence India’s respectable figure of 175 was reached. Sri Lanka got off to a good start. Hasini Perera and Imesha Dulani kept Sri Lanka’s challenge alive after skipper Atapatt was dismissed for 2 runs. But, Sri Lanka’s innings collapsed after these two were dismissed. Their batsmen were dismissed one after another. Deepti Sharma became the world’s first bowler to take the most wickets in women’s T20 cricket by taking 1 wicket for India. Deepti Sharma has created this history by taking 152 wickets.
