New Delhi. Expectations of new salary for central employees have increased, as the discussion on 8th Pay Commission is gaining momentum. The most important question is – what will be the fitment factor, because on the basis of this the basic salary of the employees is decided.
The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57, due to which the minimum salary increased from ₹7,000 to ₹18,000. Now three different estimates regarding fitment factor are being discussed in the 8th Pay Commission – 1.92, 2.08 and 2.86. The new salary of the employees will depend on this factor.
How is the new basic salary decided?
The salary formula is very simple: New Basic Salary = Existing Basic Pay × Fitment Factor
