Serious allegations against Akshaye Khanna, after the producer of ‘Drishyam 3’, now this director exposed the ‘Dhurandhar’ actor
Director Slams Dhurandhar Actor Akshaye Khanna: While on one hand Akshay Khanna is celebrating the success of his recent film ‘Dhurandhar’, on the other hand the actor is constantly seen getting embroiled in controversies. Yes, recently ‘Drishyam 3’ producer Kumar Mangat had accused Akshay Khanna of suddenly leaving the film a few days before the shooting started and withdrawing from the project after taking advance fees. After which, now the writer-director of the film ‘Section 375’ Manish Gupta has also made serious allegations against Akshay Khanna in this matter. Let us tell you what is the whole matter?
Controversy started during ‘Section 375’
Manish Gupta told in a conversation with Bollywood Hungama that in the year 2017, Akshay Khanna had signed his film ‘Section 375’. In this film, Manish was the writer-director and Kumar Mangat was the producer. Akshay’s fee was fixed at Rs 2 crore, out of which he took Rs 21 lakh as advance and also signed the contract. According to Manish, after this Akshay suddenly gave up his scheduled dates for the second film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and went to London for its shooting. Due to this, the entire team of the film ‘Section 375’ had to wait without work for almost six months.
Demand to increase fees and control
Manish Gupta further alleged that when Akshay returned, he demanded a fee of Rs 3.25 crore instead of the previously fixed Rs 2 crore, which was a direct violation of the contract. Not only this, Akshay wanted complete control over the film and wanted to run things in his own way.
Manish said, “I am not a director who would succumb to unreasonable demands of an actor. But unfortunately many directors in the industry do so.”
Allegation of removal from the post of director
Manish claims that Akshay Khanna did not like his strict directorial style. He alleged that Akshay put pressure on producer Kumar Mangat, after which he was removed from the post of director of the film. According to Manish, not only was the direction taken away from him, but his script prepared after three years of hard work and all the data related to pre-production were also confiscated.
Legal action and ongoing controversies
Manish Gupta told that he had warned Akshay Khanna and Kumar Mangat of legal action and two legal notices were also sent to the producer. The matter was about to go to the Bombay High Court, but later Kumar Mangat settled with Manish outside the court. Describing it as irony, Manish said that today the same Kumar Mangat, who remained silent despite Akshay’s behavior at that time, is now bearing the brunt of the actor’s alleged unprofessional behavior during ‘Drishyam 3’ and has taken legal action against him.
