Repeatedly failed in MBBS, lack of discipline from above, BRD Medical College took the biggest decision till date on Inspector’s son. – ..
News India Live, Digital Desk: Every father dreams that his child lives with his head held high in society. Especially when a father himself teaches discipline to the world by wearing a police uniform, his expectations from his children are much higher. But a news has come from Baba Raghav Das (BRD) Medical College of Gorakhpur which has sparked a debate on the fine line between education and discipline.
A series of failures and breaking discipline
The whole matter is about a student of BRD Medical College who has not been able to complete his MBBS studies for a long time. Not only the failure was a big problem, but according to the college administration, the student’s behavior and discipline had also gone off track. When the situation did not improve despite repeated explanations, the college management had to take a tough decision.
Son’s appearance before father in uniform
The most emotional and discussed part of this entire incident was when the student’s father was called to the college. The student’s father is posted as Sub-Inspector (SI) in Uttar Pradesh Police. On one hand, the father’s uniform and his prestige in the society, and on the other hand, his son standing in the college principal’s office, who was not only lagging behind in studies but was also breaking discipline. This was the test of a father who wanted to improve the world but seemed helpless to bring his child on the right path.
Why did the administration show so much strictness?
The medical college has taken strict action against the student. If sources are to be believed, some strict restrictions have been imposed on students, from entering the college campus and hostel to attending classes. The administration’s logic is simple—’Medicine is a responsible profession.’ If any student here is careless and does not follow the rules, he can even play with the lives of the patients tomorrow. This is the first major action taken under this ‘zero tolerance’ policy.
Strong message for other students also
This also serves as a warning to other failing college students or those who are lax in discipline. Now the college is not just watching the attendance or marks, but is also keeping an eye on the overall behavior of the students. BRD administration has made it clear that if in future anyone shows laxity in studies or breaks discipline, they will not be treated with the same leniency.
issue of parenting and increasing stress
A big question also arises here that why did a brilliant student, who passed such a difficult entrance examination (NEET) and reached the medical college, get lost like this in the middle? Is the heavy burden of studies behind this or the effect of social media and bad company? Does the influence of the father being in the police make the child stubborn or does the burden of expectations break him?
