External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday met Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting president Tariq Rahman and expressed deep condolences on the demise of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He also handed over a personal letter from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Rahman. Jaishankar gave this information on social media. He has come here to attend the last journey of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The External Affairs Minister expressed deep condolences on behalf of the Government of India and the Indian citizens on the demise of Begum Khaleda Zia. Shri Jaishankar expressed confidence that the visionary vision of the former Prime Minister and his values ​​related to public life will give a new direction to the partnership and development between the two countries.
