The writer of ‘Section 375’ accused Akshay Khanna, said – second film after taking advance

Desk. Akshaye Khanna, who made headlines for his brilliant performance in ‘Dhurandhar’, is now in the news due to allegations of unprofessional attitude against him. After being dropped from ‘Drishyam 3’, the makers of the film had accused Akshaye Khanna of being unprofessional and talked about legal action. Now Manish Gupta, the writer of Akshay’s film ‘Section 375’, has also made allegations against Akshay Khanna.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Manish Gupta has accused Akshay Khanna of taking advance during the film ‘Section 375’ and giving dates to another film. Manish Gupta told, ‘In 2017, Akshay signed for my film ‘Section 375’, in which I was the director-writer and Kumar Mangat was the producer. His fee was fixed at Rs 2 crore. He took an advance of Rs 21 lakh and signed a contract with us. But suddenly he gave the dates promised to us to another film ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and went to London to shoot that film. Because of this my team remained idle for six months.

The author further told that after the shooting of that film was completed, Akshay came back and started demanding Rs 325 crore. Whereas the contract with him was for a fee of only Rs 2 crore. In this way he violated the contract. Akshay’s unreasonable demands did not end here. He wanted complete control over the film and wanted to get everything done his way. But I am not a director who accepts everything an actor says. I protested against Akshay’s wrong behaviour. But sadly, most of the directors in Bollywood bow down to every wish of the actors.

Manish Gupta further said that after this I had warned Akshay that I would drag him to court and I had sent two legal notices to producer Kumar Mangat. My lawyers were filing a case against both of them in the Bombay High Court, but Kumar Mangat immediately settled with me out of court. The irony today is that when producer Kumar Mangat is bearing the brunt of Akshay’s unethical behavior in ‘Drishyam 3’, he himself has taken legal action against Akshay.
