digital desk- Further strengthening the defense capability of the country, the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has conducted a major and successful test of the indigenous Pralay missile. The test was conducted on Wednesday 31 December 2025 at around 10:30 am from the Chandipur Test Range located off the coast of Odisha. During this, two Pralay missiles were fired from the same launcher at an interval of a few seconds, which hit their designated targets with complete accuracy. During the test, the flight, direction and final stage movements of the missiles were continuously monitored through radar systems and tracking ships deployed at sea. According to DRDO, all sub-systems and components of the missile performed completely as expected. This successful test has proved the reliability and operational capability of the Pralay missile system.
Completely indigenous, missile runs on solid fuel
The Pralaya missile is completely based on indigenous technology and operates on solid fuel. Its biggest feature is its high accuracy and ability to hit the target rapidly. This missile is capable of carrying a conventional warhead ranging from 500 kg to 1000 kg. Due to this, huge damage can be caused to strategic and important targets of the enemy. The Pralay missile can be deployed in a short period of time and is designed to suit the needs of modern warfare. DRDO has developed this missile in collaboration with Indian industry. Several laboratories of DRDO, led by the Hyderabad-based Research Center Building, worked on this project.
This missile is made in collaboration with many companies
Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and other Indian companies have played an important role in its creation and integration. This project also strengthens India’s self-reliant defense policy. Senior officers of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force were also present during the test. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Army, Air Force and the country’s defense industry on the successful test of Pralay missile. He said that the successful test of two missiles from the same launcher is a clear proof of the strength and reliability of this system.
