Congress raised questions on China’s mediation claims
New Delhi. The Congress Party on Wednesday described as worrying the claims made by China to mediate between India and Pakistan. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh sought clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter, saying it appeared to be a threat to national security.

Questions were raised on China’s claims
Ramesh further said that China’s alliance with Pakistan is worrying for India and it affects India’s national security. He also said that it is against public trust.
Demand for clarification on China’s role in Operation Sindoor
Focusing on relations with China, Ramesh alleged that India’s position has been weakened by the Prime Minister’s exoneration of China. He said that India’s trade deficit is at a record level and our exports are dependent on China. He asked the citizens what was the role of China in stopping ‘Operation Sindoor’.
China’s statement
It is noteworthy that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had said on Tuesday that “reducing tensions between India and Pakistan is one of China’s mediation successes this year.”
India’s official stance
At the same time, the Indian government has consistently clarified that the incidents that took place between India and Pakistan between May 7 and 10 were resolved through direct dialogue. It is important for India that there is no need for any third party mediation.
