According to the police, the accused has been identified as Imran, who came in contact with the woman by calling himself ‘Sonu’. At present, the police is busy searching for the accused, who is already said to be out on bail in a narcotics case.

The victim (30 years) is a resident of a posh area of ​​Ratlam and is educated till 12th. According to the complaint, their first meeting took place in the year 2020 in the Ram Mandir area, where the accused claimed to be a Hindu, calling himself ‘Sonu’. The woman told that in June 2023, she contacted the accused again on phone. During this time, he promised marriage and started pressurizing the woman to divorce her husband. Believing the words of the accused, the woman left her husband in July 2023 and started living at her father’s house.

Started living like husband and wife in a rented room

According to the complaint, on September 14, 2023, the woman and the accused started living together in a rented room near Sakshi Petrol Pump in Nayagaon area of ​​Ratlam. The accused said that he will marry her as soon as the divorce is finalized. While living together, the woman heard the accused talking to other people on the phone, which made her suspicious. Later he came to know that ‘Sonu’ is not a Hindu but a Muslim and his real name is Imran.

Location changed in Emho Road area

After Nayagaon, both of them started living in another rented flat in Emho Road area. Meanwhile, the divorce of the woman became final on 8 November 2024. After the divorce, when the woman talked about marrying Imran, he flatly refused and kept avoiding the matter. Due to this the tension between the two increased. According to the victim, there was a heated argument between the two on 26 December 2025 at around 4 pm. Meanwhile, the accused allegedly threatened that if she went to the police, he would kill her.

Complaint lodged with police

On the night of 29 December 2025, the woman reached the Industrial Area police station and lodged a complaint. She told that the accused introduced her as his wife at many places and had physical relations with her several times. Based on the complaint of the woman, the police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), 2023.
