Mamata is showing off temples as elections approach: VHP

Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal has targeted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He said that Mamata Banerjee is remembering the temple as the elections are approaching. They are just showing off the temples.

Vinod Bansal said while talking to news agency IANS, “It is not hidden from anyone with whom Mamata Banerjee’s real sympathies are. On December 6, she was shedding tears for Babri Masjid, but on December 7, she refused to participate in the Gita recitation in Kolkata, in which about five lakh Hindus participated. He said that for every festival like Ram Navami, Hanuman Jayanti or Durga Puja, the Hindu community in Bengal has to take refuge in the High Court.

He said, “This is the same Chief Minister who gives priority to the Jamaatis and their festivals, but keeps the biggest festival of Mata Kali or Durga Puja on second priority. When Hindu temples and houses are attacked, or when atrocities take place in Bangladesh and Bengali culture is harmed, she remains silent. This hypocrisy will not last long and it has to be brought before the public.”

On the incidents in Bangladesh, Vinod Bansal said, “After all, how many lives will this jihadi thinking take? Those who are being killed, are they not citizens of Bangladesh? I want to ask the government why Bangladeshi citizens are being targeted just because they are Hindus.”

VHP spokesperson said that this is not just a blow to the human rights of Hindus, but is a blow to the civilization of the world. The incidents in Bangladesh are very serious. International human rights commissions and organizations should intervene, because this is a direct attack on civilization.

He asked why the people who call Islam a religion of peace are sitting silent. Why do these people keep sleeping? Why don’t you explain to your society that this is not right from the point of view of Islam?
