DRDO gets big success, successfully launching two Pralay missiles from the same launcher…watch video

New Delhi : Further strengthening India’s defense capabilities, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully completed the important test of Pralay missile from the Integrated Test Range located in Chandipur, Odisha. The special feature of this test was that two Pralay missiles were fired continuously from the same launcher and both flew accurately towards their designated targets. This test was part of the User Evaluation Trial, which is considered very important before inducting any weapon system into the army.

Test conducted at fixed time and place
Let us tell you that according to the information released by the Defense Ministry, this test was conducted on 31 December 2025 at around 10.30 am near the coast of Odisha. During launch, both the missiles completely followed the pre-determined flight path. Modern tracking systems and radar deployed in the Integrated Test Range monitored the entire mission in real time. Additionally, telemetry systems on a ship deployed near the impact area also confirmed the last stage of the missiles.

Importance of User Evaluation Trial
User evaluation trial means that during this the missile system is tested as per the needs and standards of the potential user i.e. the Indian Army. In this, the reliability, accuracy, launch system and operational capability of the missile are thoroughly examined. According to DRDO, in this test, the Pralay missile has successfully completed all the prescribed technical and operational objectives, which seems to pave the way for its future induction into service.

Key Features of Pralay Missile
Pralay is an indigenously developed short-range ballistic missile, whose strike range is believed to be between 150 kilometers to 500 kilometers. It has been specially designed keeping in mind the traditional war conditions. It is capable of carrying out highly accurate attacks on important military targets like enemy radar bases, command and control centres, airbases and airstrips. Its high-precision strike capability makes it an effective weapon in modern warfare.

Big step towards self-reliant India
The Pralay missile is completely based on indigenous technology, which reflects India’s defense production capacity under the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign. Its development not only reduces dependence on imported weapon systems, but also gives new strength to the domestic defense industry. This successful test of DRDO clearly highlights the increasing efficiency and strategic capability of India in missile technology.

Defense capabilities will get further strength
According to experts, the successful test of Pralay missile will give new heights to the strike capability of the Indian Armed Forces. Due to its rapid deployment, high accuracy and reliable performance, this missile can become an important part of India’s strategic strategy in future. With this successful test, DRDO has once again proved that India is continuously becoming stronger in the field of advanced defense technologies.
