2025’s most bizarre and expensive luxury fashion trends
Global fashion in 2025 witnessed trends that left consumers both amazed and bewildered. Leading luxury brands introduced unusually creative—and often puzzling—fashion items, with prices so high that many questioned whether these were true innovations or mere attention-grabbing stunts.
This year, small yet exorbitantly priced fashion items became a major talking point. Luxury brands broke traditional design norms and set price thresholds that seemed almost incomprehensible to the average buyer. Social media was abuzz with debates over whether fashion quality had truly shifted toward functionality or if shock value had become the new symbol of luxury.
One-Legged Jeans
In March 2025, French luxury brand Coperni launched a pair of jeans with only one leg, priced at $440. While seemingly ordinary, the missing leg left many consumers astonished. Social media users widely mocked it as one of the most illogical fashion experiments, questioning its purpose.
Stained Shirt

Also in March, Moschino introduced a men’s shirt featuring a blue pen stain on the pocket, priced at $755. Critics humorously remarked that pen stains in school days were far better than this designer version.
Prada Kolhapuri Sandals

Prada’s take on traditional Kolhapuri sandals, priced at $1,500, also sparked debate. Critics argued that the design overlooked the cultural and artisanal heritage of Asia.
Tomato-Shaped Clutch

In June, Loewe released a tomato-shaped clutch with a metal frame, priced at around $3,950. The quirky design captured considerable attention on social media.
Auto Rickshaw Bag

Louis Vuitton’s Summer ’26 men’s fashion show featured the ‘Auto Bag,’ shaped like a three-wheeled auto rickshaw. Priced at approximately $39,000 (around 2 crore PKR), social media users joked that one could buy several actual auto rickshaws for that amount.
Kim Kardashian Comfort Wig
In October, Kim Kardashian introduced a bizarre undergarment product called The Ultimate Bush, featuring artificial pubic hair in 12 different colors and textures, priced at $32. The product drew mixed reactions from fans and fashion enthusiasts.
Prada Safety Pin

In November, Prada listed a simple safety pin as the ‘Crouch Safety Pin Brooch’ in its online catalog for $775 (over two lakh PKR). The item was soon removed, but not before it became a social media meme, criticized as an example of pointless luxury purchases.
