New Delhi : The year 2025 is now going to bid farewell with its memories. As soon as the hands of the clock move towards 12 midnight, the entire country will welcome the new year 2026. People have already started celebrations in many states. Somewhere preparations are going on at home with family and somewhere a party is being planned with friends. The excitement about welcoming the New Year is at its peak all over the world and India is also not untouched by this atmosphere.

Starting the new year with faith
With the arrival of the New Year, a large number of people want to start it with religious faith. For this reason, huge crowds of devotees are gathering at major pilgrimage sites like Vaishno Devi, Ayodhya Ram Temple, Kashi Vishwanath, Ujjain Mahakal. Long queues have formed at many places for darshan and the administration has to make special arrangements. Devotees believe that the beginning of the new year with the blessings of God brings happiness, peace and positivity in life.

There is excitement at tourist places too
The enthusiasm for the New Year is clearly visible at religious places as well as tourist centres. There is a huge crowd of tourists at hill stations like Shimla, Manali and Dehradun. Tourists were seen dancing, singing and celebrating in Manali on the eve of 31st December. There is tremendous activity in hotels, resorts and markets. Jaisalmer of Rajasthan also remains a special attraction for New Year celebrations.

 

Celebrations and security arrangements in metros
Grand preparations have been made for the New Year celebrations in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Pune. Security arrangements have been tightened in Delhi in view of 31st December and 1st January. Delhi and Noida Traffic Police have issued traffic advisory so that people do not face any problem in movement and any kind of chaos can be avoided. Tight security arrangements have also been made at clubs, hotels and public places.

Huge crowd of devotees and tourists
Before the New Year, the crowd is continuously increasing at religious and tourist places across the country. Several kilometers long queues are being seen to have darshan at Ramlala and Kashi Vishwanath temples in Ayodhya. The crowd is being controlled through barricading and devotees are being given darshan for a limited time. Devotees also have to wait for hours in Khatushyamji temple in Sikar, Rajasthan.

Special vigilance and security in Puri
In view of the darshan of Lord Jagannath and New Year celebrations in Puri, the administration is on full alert mode. It is estimated that more than 3.5 lakh devotees can reach here. Keeping this in mind, 70 platoons of police force have been deployed. More than 300 CCTV cameras have been installed in the city and on the beach and about 300 lifeguards have been deployed on the beach to deal with any emergency.

Balance of enthusiasm, faith and caution
Overall, there is an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm across the country to welcome the New Year 2026. People are celebrating the New Year through faith, tourism and entertainment. The administration is also fully alert so that this celebration can be conducted in a safe and peaceful manner.
