Producers’ interest increased in Bihar, approval given for shooting of 37 films
Bihar government is continuously making efforts to increase the interest of film makers in the state. Its results are also now visible. The government claims that Bihar is now becoming the choice of film, web series and documentary makers. So far, 37 films, web series and documentaries have been given permission to shoot at various locations in the state.
Art and Culture Department Secretary Pranab Kumar told in a press conference on Wednesday that the Bihar Film Promotion Policy-2024 implemented by the state government has started giving Bihar a new identity on the national map of cinema. He said that a scheme is also being run to provide scholarship to students pursuing education in the field of film and theatre. Under this, more than Rs 13 lakh has been provided.
Discussing the Chief Minister Guru Shishya Yojana, he said that the Chief Minister Guru-Shishya Parampara Yojana has been started to revive the endangered and marginalized folk arts of the state. Under this, experienced artists as ‘Guru’ will give training to the youth in traditional art, folk music, dance and musical instruments. Good effect of this scheme has been seen. So far 233 applications have been received under this scheme.
He further said that similarly, the Chief Minister Artist Pension Scheme, started for senior and neglected artistes, is also being implemented effectively. Under this scheme, eligible artists are being given a pension of three thousand rupees per month.
Art and Culture Department Secretary Pranab Kumar said that wherever big events are being organized, Bihar publicizes its policies on a large scale. He said that the government has also given in-principle approval for the establishment of Bihar Film and Drama Institute. Work is also being done for the development of many tourist places. Efforts have also been made to preserve the tradition through manuscript conservation.
