Lucknow : Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, a powerful leader and former MP, known for his domineering image in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, recently spoke openly about his political journey and current situation during a podcast interview. He claimed that he was ousted from the Lok Sabha not by the public but as part of a well-planned conspiracy. According to Brij Bhushan, even before his tenure was completed, he was humiliated and pushed to the margins of politics. He also said that this insult is no less than a deep wound for him, which he will definitely try to heal when the time comes.

Making clear his future intentions, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that if life favors him, he will try to reach Lok Sabha once again. He also made it clear that the public will decide from which constituency to contest the elections. However, his first attempt will be to contest the elections on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket only. He admitted that even though his son Karan Bhushan Singh is currently an MP, his own political ambitions are still unfulfilled and he wants to make his place in Parliament again.
Gratitude to Akhilesh Yadav
A different side of Brij Bhushan came out during the interview, when he openly praised Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav. He said that during his most difficult times, especially during the controversy related to women wrestlers, Akhilesh Yadav did not give any statement against him. According to Brij Bhushan, Akhilesh followed political decorum and he will never forget this behaviour. He said that there can be differences in politics, but there are some limits, which Akhilesh Yadav did not cross.
Resentment over Ram Mandir Trust and VIP culture
The former MP also expressed his displeasure regarding the inauguration ceremony of Ram Temple. He said that despite being associated with the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, he was not invited earlier, which deeply hurt him. Later, when the invitation came again, he himself refused. His allegation was that people who had no direct connection with the temple movement were invited to the function, while leaders like Vinay Katiyar were ignored.
He also said that he has not yet gone to see Ramlala. Whenever you go, you will not be like a special guest, but will stand in line and have darshan like a common devotee. According to him, VIP culture should have no place in faith.
Taunt on Yogi and bureaucracy
Regarding his proposed ‘Rashtra Katha’ program, Brij Bhushan said that invitations have been sent to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He expressed hope that Chief Minister Yogi could attend his program. He also took a dig at the state’s bureaucracy and said that in the current situation, MLAs have to bow before officials for their work, which is a worrying sign for democracy.
In no mood to retire from politics
