23 fours-sixes… Sarfaraz Khan’s storm, scored a century in 56 balls in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26, Mumbai’s star batsman Sarfaraz Khan once again proved why he is considered one of the most dangerous and reliable batsmen in domestic cricket. Mumbai and Goa were face to face in the Group C match played in Jaipur on Wednesday and in this match, Sarfaraz’s bat was seen completely on fire. He not only thrilled the audience by scoring a century in just 56 balls, but also caught the attention of the selectors.

 

Mumbai’s innings had a good start but opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after scoring 46 runs. At a time when the team needed a responsible and aggressive innings, Sarfaraz Khan came to bat at number four. As soon as he came to the crease, he clearly indicated that he was in no mood to spare any bowler today. Right from the beginning he started putting pressure on the Goa bowlers.

Made a partnership of 93 runs with younger brother

Sarfaraz along with his younger brother Musheer Khan took the innings forward. There was a quick partnership of 93 runs between the two brothers, which gave a strong base to Mumbai’s innings. Musheer Khan also provided excellent support and scored 60 runs on 66 balls. However, the real attraction was Sarfaraz’s stormy batting, in which power, timing and confidence were clearly visible.

 

Sarfaraz hit attractive shots all around the ground. Sometimes a four over cover, sometimes a long six over long on, every shot was forcing the audience to dance. He completed his century in the 36th over of the innings. This was his third List-A century but its pace and style make it special.

Sarfaraz scored 157 runs alone

Sarfaraz did not stop even after the century. He continued to attack the bowlers and took the score forward rapidly. Sarfaraz was out after scoring 157 runs. In this explosive inning of 75 balls, he hit 14 sixes and 9 fours. This innings was not only a story of run scoring but also a brilliant example of confidence and complete command of the match.

 

If we look at Sarfaraz’s List-A career, this innings seems even more special. Before this match, he had played 40 matches, in which he had scored 692 runs in 29 innings and his average was 36.42. In such a situation, this big inning has further strengthened his figures.
