Bhopal, December 31: Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar said that today (December 31) is the last day to avail the benefit of 100 percent discount in the Samadhan Yojana 2025-26, which started from November 3 in Madhya Pradesh. Lakhs of defaulting consumers are taking advantage of the scheme. He has appealed to the consumers that in the first phase of the scheme, consumers who are in arrears for more than three months can avail the benefit of 100% surcharge waiver by paying their outstanding bills in lump sum on the last day.
Actually, the first phase of the State Government’s Samadhan Yojana 2025-26 is going on, which is ending today on 31st December. Today is still the day left. During this period, defaulting consumers are getting the benefit of maximum rebate in surcharge. Although the second phase will run from January 1 to February 28, 2026, the percentage of surcharge waiver will be reduced, so take maximum benefit by joining the scheme today in the first phase.
Energy Minister Tomar said that till now 2 lakh 90 thousand 786 outstanding consumers of Central Region Electricity Distribution Company have availed the benefits by registering themselves. The principal amount of more than Rs 304 crore 62 lakh has been deposited in the account of Central Region Electricity Distribution Company, while surcharge of Rs 161 crore 39 lakh has been waived.
Solution Plan 2025-26: At a glance
The objective of the Samadhan Yojana 2025-26 is to provide waiver on surcharge for late payment outstanding to consumers for more than 3 months. This scheme is based on the principle of come early, pay lump sum and get more benefits. In this scheme, the consumer will get the maximum benefit by making lump sum payment in the first phase while the percentage of discount will gradually reduce during the second phase. This scheme will be started in two phases, the first phase will start from November 3 to December 31, 2025, in which 60 to 100 percent surcharge will be waived.
Similarly, in the second and final phase which will be applicable from January 1 to February 28, 2026, 50 to 90 percent surcharge will be waived. The maximum benefit will be on depositing the lump sum amount in the first phase. To avail the benefits of Samadhan Yojana 2025-26, consumers should register with M.P. For Central Region Power Distribution Company Bhopal, registration will have to be done on portal.mpcz.in. Registration facility is also available on the company’s Upad App and Common Service Center (CSC) and MP Online. During registration, the registration amount has been fixed for different consumer categories. Domestic and agricultural consumers can avail the benefits by joining the scheme and registering by paying 10 percent of the total outstanding amount and non-domestic and industrial consumers can register and pay 25 percent of the total outstanding amount.
