Inflation shock at the beginning of the new year, commercial gas cylinder becomes expensive, domestic prices stable
Tezzbuzz Desk- The beginning of the new year has brought the shock of inflation for common people and businessmen. On one hand, the government has given relief in the prices of Piped Natural Gas (PNG), on the other hand, there has been a huge increase in the prices of commercial LPG cylinders. The special thing is that this increase in the prices of commercial cylinders is considered to be the highest in the last 28 months. Earlier, such a big rise was seen in October 2023.
This time the effect of the increase has been seen in all four major metros of the country. The price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 111 in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, while in Chennai it has increased by Rs 110. After this, the price of commercial cylinder in the capital Delhi has reached around Rs 1,700, which is the highest level after June 2025. Whereas in some cities the prices have reached close to Rs 1,850.

In contrast, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders at present. According to Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), the prices of domestic gas cylinders in all four metros remain the same as before.

It is noteworthy that the prices of domestic gas cylinders were last changed in April 2025. Due to increase in the price of commercial cylinders, the costs of hotels, restaurants and small businessmen may increase, which may also affect the consumers in the coming days.
