New Delhi: The Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams are preparing for another busy calendar in 2026. In 2025, India won the Champions Trophy and the Women’s ODI World Cup and will aim to maintain this momentum in 2026.
The Men in Blue will start the year to defend their T20 World Cup title, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, from February 7. Suryakumar Yadav and Co. are scheduled to play against the USA, Pakistan, Namibia, and the Netherlands in the group stage of the tournament.
After a historic 2025, the Indian women’s cricket team will also participate in the T20 World Cup, which will be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5. The Women in Blue are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, South Africa, Australia and two qualifying teams.
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) will begin on January 9, and the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to start from March 2026. Harmanpreet and Co. will also participate in the 2026 Asian Games, which will take place from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, Japan.
