Eyes moist, voice heavy… On the sets of KBC, when Amitabh Bachchan remembered his ‘Dharam’ and revealed the secret of ‘Sholay’ which no one knew.

The set of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, where there is an atmosphere of knowledge and excitement every day, suddenly became silent and emotional that day. The reason was the megastar of the century, Amitabh Bachchan, who was remembering his best friend, his brother, his “Dharam Paaji” i.e. late Dharmendra.

A very beautiful and emotional tribute was given to Dharmendra ji and his last film ‘Ikkis’ in the show. On this occasion, Big B shared some such memories and things related to his friend, hearing which everyone’s eyes became moist.

“Dharam was not just a person, he was a feeling.”

Amitabh Bachchan’s voice became heavy while talking about Dharmendra ji’s last film ‘Ikkis’. He said,
“The film ‘Ikkis’ is his last precious memory for all of us… A true artiste just wants to work till his last breath, and my friend, my Dharam… he did just that.”

What he said next touched everyone’s heart:
“Dharam was not just a person, he was a feeling… and feelings never leave you. They become a memory, a blessing, which gives you the courage to move forward.”

Director Shriram Raghavan and actor Jaideep Ahlawat of the film ‘Ikkis’ also shared their experiences of working with Dharmendra ji. Jaideep said, “On the set it never felt like a superstar was sitting with us, he was just like a family member.”

When we talk about old memories, how can ‘Sholay’ not be mentioned? Big B narrated an unheard incident from the sets of ‘Sholay’, which tells about the strength and personality of Dharmendra ji.

Amitabh Bachchan recalled,
“We were shooting in Bengaluru. He had amazing physical strength… He was a wrestler, a hero. In the death scene, when he held me, the pain that was seen on the screen was real! Because he held me so tightly that my pain automatically transformed into acting.”
